¡Bienvenidos al curso 2015 – 2016!

Welcome to the 2015 – 2016 term! 

A continuación, encontraréis una guía, en español e inglés, sobre los aspectos más prácticos de la Biblioteca de Caminos. Nuestro objetivo es despejar las dudas más frecuentes y ofreceros una visión general sobre los diversos servicios disponibles.

Por favor, no dudéis en preguntar o hacer comentarios a través de nuestro blog o, personalmente, en la Biblioteca…también en Facebook.

Following, you will find a guide, in Spanish and English, to the most practical features of Caminos Library. Our goal is to sort out the most common doubts and to provide a general scope on the various services available.

GUÍA RÁPIDA; QUICK GUIDE:

  

HORARIO: lunes-viernes, de 08:30 a 21:00 hrs. (sujeto a cambios a lo largo del año).

PRINCIPALES  ESPACIOS Y FONDOS DE LA BIBLIOTECA:

SALA DE PRÉSTAMO: Aquí puedes estudiar y tomar prestados libros, ordenadores, lectores de libros electrónicos y calculadoras. Los libros que encontrarás son: Manuales (con el punto verde en la parte superior del lomo) y Monografías. Todos ellos llevan la pegatina “Préstamo”.

SALA DE REFERENCIA: los ejemplares disponibles en esta Sala están pensados para su consulta únicamente. En esta zona puedes encontrar una amplia gama de temas relacionados con la ingeniería civil, además de diccionarios, mapas, etc.

DEPÓSITOS: adicionalmente tenemos muchos otros libros, que pueden ser solicitados cumplimentando un sencillo formulario. Se entregan 24 hrs. después.

Es recomendable que os familiaricéis con el Catálogo, Ingenio (reúne todos los recursos, bases de datos incluidas), el Archivo Digital (artículos científicos, ponencias, tesis, etc.) y la Colección Digital Politécnica (fondo antiguo de libros y mapas, fotografías, museos virtuales y muchos más documentos interesantes).

Por cierto, hay disponible conexión WIFI de banda ancha, solo necesitas tu usuario y contraseña de la UPM.

RESUMEN DE LAS NORMAS* DE PRÉSTAMO Y PERFILES:

 * Pueden tener lugar cambios en el transcurso del tiempo.

 

MANUALES: todos los perfiles 7 días; máximo 2 ejemplares. Renovables una vez.

MONOGRAFÍAS: 

-Alumnos de Grado: 14 días; máximo 4 ejemplares. Renovables una vez.

-Investigadores y Postgrado: 30 días; máximo 6 ejemplares. Renovables una vez.

ORDENADORES PORTÁTILES:

-5 horas (menos tiempo en algunos casos, debido a que todos tienen que haber sido devueltos a las 20:00 hrs. como tarde).

-Dentro de la Sala de Préstamo exclusivamente, excepto alumnos de Ciencia de Materiales.

CALCULADORAS: 5 horas (menos tiempo en algunos casos, debido a que todas tienen que haber sido devueltas a las 20:00 hrs. como tarde).

LECTORES  DE LIBROS ELECTRÓNICOS: 14 días

Se aplican SANCIONES por retrasos en la devolución de ejemplares y el mal uso o pérdida de los materiales de la Biblioteca.

SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 08:30 to 21:00 hrs. (subject to changes throughout the year).

MAIN PREMISES AND HOLDINGS OF THE LIBRARY:

LENDING ROOM (“Préstamo”): Here you can study and borrow books, computers, e-book readers and calculators. The books you will come across are: Manuals (with the green dot on the upper end of the spine) and Monographs. All of them carry the “Préstamo” sticker.

REFERENCE ROOM (“Referencia”): the items available in this Room are only intended for consultation purposes. In this area you can find a wide range of subject matters related to civil engineering, plus dictionaries, maps, etc.

CLOSED STACKS: in addition we have many other books, which can be requested by filling in a simple form. They are delivered 24 hrs. later.

It is advisable that you get acquainted with the Catalogue, Ingenio (it summons all the resources, databases included), the Digital Archive (papers, proceedings, theses, etc.) and the Politécnica Digital Collection (antique holdings of books and maps, photographs, virtual museums and many more compelling items).

By the way, there is broadband WIFI connection available in our premises, you only need your UPM user name and password.

SUMMARY OF THE BORROWING RULES* AND PROFILES:

* Changes may take place over time.

MANUALS: all profiles 7 days; 2 items maximum. Renewable once.

MONOGRAPHS:

-Undergraduate students: 14 days; 4 items maximum. Renewable once. 

-Researchers and Postgraduate: 30 days; 6 items maximum. Renewable once.

 LAPTOP COMPUTERS:

-5 hours (a shorter time in some cases, as they must be all returned by 20:00 hrs. at the latest).

-Within the Lending Room exclusively, except for Materials Science students.

CALCULATORS: 5 hours (a shorter time in some cases, as they must be all returned by 20:00 hrs. at the latest).

E-BOOK READERS: 14 days.

PENALTIES apply to overdue items and the misuse or loss of the Library materials.
